Toyota Avanza will launch in India by the end of September 2011, exact dates are still not confirmed. This will be come in the international Multi-Purpose Vehicle (IMV) segment. Company is planning to keep the price tag low and will be sold as cheaper alternative of Toyota Innova. Toyota Avanza is an upcoming model of Toyota in Indian market. It will be a mini-Innova from Toyota for Indian customers, the shape of the car looks like MUV and SUV too.Toyota Avanza was first went for sale in Thailand and got good responses from customers. It will be smaller than the Toyota Innova which will give ease of driving in traffic jams. It is expected to be 20-25% cheaper than its bigger sibling. The Company has unveiled petrol version of Toyota Avanza but there are rumours that it is also planning to launch diesel version. It will be a third vehicle to its IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) line-up in the country after Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner.
